Wem 10K

The Wem 10K returns in 2024 for its 5th Birthday!

Described as the most friendly 10K in the county, this fast paced course is perfect for all abilities from elites to beginners.

Timing

Professional chip timing on an offically measured and verified course

Medal & 
T Shirt

All finishers will recieve a special bespoke medal made from locally sourced wood and a Technical Running T shirt (additional charge).

Free Photo Downloads

On completion of the race you can celebrate your efforts at the Church Stretton Beer Festival which is situated at the Finish Line. Craft ales, music and delicious food will all be available.

Elite 
Race

Free entry for those who have run 10K in under 33 minutes (Males) and 36 minutes (females) in the past 12 months at an offical race. Proof of time is required.

Important Information

The Start

Start Location: Thomas Adams School, Wem, Shropshire, SY4 5UB

Start Time: 10am

Facilities: Toilet, Changing facilities,Bib and chip collection, Bag drop off.

Getting to the start

The start line is at Thomas Adams School in the centre of Wem. 
If traveling by car there is car parking available at Wem leisure centre (limited), Edinburgh House and the CO-OP. 
The train station is a 10 minute walk from the start line.

The Finish

Finish Location: Thomas Adams School
Finish Line Closes: 12pm 
Facilities: Toilets, First aid, Bag collection, Water point, Medal Collection

The route and terrain

This is a fast paced route which is predominantly all either downhill or on flat good quality roads, canal paths and footpaths.

Suggested Kit List

  • Road running shoes (dependable on amount of rain in the week of the race)

  • Running top or vest

  • Sunglasses

  • Suncream

  • Mobile phone and/or GPS device (fully charged)
